Why do they call it Redox?
Redox is a short-hand combination of the words “Reductant” and “Oxidant” which are the two types of molecules that are responsible for the electron-transfer-protocol which allows for many of the complex-life-functions of cells to be carried out.
What does cell signaling mean?
Cell signaling, as denoted in the redox signaling molecules explanations we discuss on this site, refers to cellular communication which allows for cells to detect, protect, repair and replace themselves to the aim of improved health in our bodies. The signals themselves are transferred electrons which are either given or received by the Redox Signaling Molecules (RSMs).
Is cell signaling redox signaling?
The term: Redox Signaling is one specific, and very important type, of cell signaling, but not the only kind of cell signaling. Redox Signaling Molecules allow for Redox Signaling to take place inside our cells, allow for certain communications to take place that allow for complex life to exist. Cell signaling is a more broad term which can refer to Redox Signaling or other types of signals or communications which may take place within a cell.
How are redox signaling molecules made?
Redox Signaling Molecules are created inside the body, by the mitochondria of each cell, during the Krebs cycle. These are the “byproduct” of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) which is the main energy supply of our body, but in fact they are not simply a byproduct but in fact a crucial off-shoot of the ATP cycle. Only mitochondria could produce Redox Signaling Molecules until ASEA finalized its breakthrough, patented process which allows for the synthesis and stabilization of Redox Signaling Molecules outside of the body using ultra-purified Salt and Water which are brought through an electrolysis process.
